Email hello@lonestartreatsaz.com first. If you purchased shipping insurance at checkout, you can file a claim within 15 days of delivery. If you didn't purchase insurance, Lonestar will help you file a claim with USPS or UPS directly.

Treats, chews, and food are perishable and cannot be returned. Toys and accessories are also non-refundable. The exception is quail eggs damaged in transit, which are refunded or credited.

Lonestar offers local delivery of pet food and treats to Arizona customers within a 20-mile radius of the Cave Creek shop, including same-day delivery via Uber Connect. Frozen food orders require a phone call to the shop to confirm availability.

Who runs Lonestar Pet Treats?
Lonestar Pet Treats is owned and run by Halle Stene, a Certified Professional Canine Nutritionist (CPCN), out of our shop at 4815 E Carefree Hwy, Cave Creek, AZ. Every product we carry is personally sourced and selected by Halle for its quality and ingredients — nothing is stocked just because it sells.

What makes Lonestar different from a big-box pet store?
We specialize in single-ingredient, minimally processed treats and chews, whole-prey and raw feeding products, and natural supplements — the same products Halle feeds her own pets. We're a small business, not a warehouse, so every item is hand-selected rather than mass-stocked.

Ordering & Shipping

How long does shipping take?

Does my order include shipping insurance?
Priority and UPS Ground both include up to $100 of carrier insurance. First Class does not include insurance. You can also purchase additional shipping insurance at checkout.

What if my package is lost, damaged, or stolen?

If you purchased shipping insurance at checkout, you can file a claim directly (claims must be submitted within 15 days of delivery). Can I return my order?
Because our treats, chews, and food are perishable, we're unable to accept returns on them. Toys and accessories are also non-refundable, since they aren't guaranteed to be indestructible — always supervise your pet with a new item. The one exception: if quail eggs arrive damaged in transit, we'll refund or credit the price of the eggs.

Local Pickup & Delivery (Arizona)

Do you offer local delivery?
Yes — we offer local delivery of pet food and treats to AZ customers within a 20-mile radius of our Cave Creek shop, including same-day delivery via Uber Connect in many cases. For frozen food orders, please call the shop directly at 480-248-8267 to place the order and confirm availability, since someone needs to be home to receive frozen items.

Can I shop in person?
Yes — our shop is located at 4815 E Carefree Hwy, Cave Creek, AZ 85331. In-store, you can also talk directly with our team about what's right for your pet.

Raw & Natural Feeding

What does "single-ingredient" mean?
It means the treat or chew is made from exactly one ingredient — for example, our rabbit ears are just rabbit ears, with nothing added, no fillers, no preservatives, and no artificial anything. This makes it easy to identify what's actually going into your pet and to rule out ingredients if your pet has allergies or sensitivities.

Are natural chews safe for all dogs?
Most natural chews are safe for most healthy adult dogs when sized appropriately and supervised, but the right chew depends on your dog's size, chewing style, and any health considerations. If you're unsure which chew is right for your dog, our one-on-one nutrition consultations with a Certified Professional Canine Nutritionist can help you choose.

Why does Lonestar recommend raw or fresh feeding?
Our founder, Halle, made the switch to raw feeding for her own pets after researching species-appropriate diets, and saw a real difference in their health. That experience is why Lonestar focuses on whole-prey, raw, and minimally processed foods — we believe pets do best on diets that closely resemble what they'd eat in the wild.
